What are Neodymium Magnets and Why Does Stripebird Use Them?

What does "rare earth" even mean? In short, rare earth magnets are made from rare earth elements found on the periodic table. Of the rare earth magnets, neodymium magnets are the strongest - in fact, neodymium magnets are the strongest magnets in the world straight up.

Of the neodymium magnet family, there are different strength levels that vary from n35 to n50 (and sometimes, n52). The basic principle is that the higher the number, the stronger the magnet. That means n35 is weakest and n50 is the strongest.
